A very experienced and accomplished musculoskeletal radiologist, Professor Monu has been a member of the International Skeletal Society (ISS) since 1998 and is the ISS Regional Outreach Co-ordinator for Sub-Saharan Africa from 2008-2024.

Several previous senior appointments include Ag. Head of Dept. of Radiology University of Benin Teaching Hospital Benin, Nigeria (1986-89); Head of MSK Radiology, Louisiana State University, New Orleans, LA (1998-99); Director, Division of MSK Radiology, University of Rochester, Rochester, NY (1999-2019)

He has published more than 12 books and book chapters on MSK Radiology. He has more than 120 peer reviewed publications/journal articles, greater than 200 abstracts and more than 20 grants and research projects.

During his long and distinguished academic career, Professor Monu has trained more 36 MSK Radiology Fellows, and greater than 200 Radiology Residents. He is still actively involved in the training of radiology residents and fellows in the University of Rochester.
