Dr. Fred Mutisya is a practicing medical doctor and an award-winning AI developer. He completed his

Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Nairobi in 2013. He is undertaking a Masters in Data Science at University of East London and a Master’s in Field Epidemiology degree sponsored by the CDC. He is the Health Tech Lead at Qhala where he leads the work around Health AI sandboxes and Health AI models. He is also the lead AI consultant at Smartbiotic.AI, a company that is using AI to retackle Antimicrobial Resistance in France, Canada and Germany. He is an avid AI developer who most recent solution on AI and Antibiotics won the Impact prize presented at Vienna, Austria.

He volunteers in the Kenyan HIV program and is a recipient of the 2020 PEPFAR Heroes award. He is the ICT/AI lead at the Kenya Medical Association and Kenyan Health Informatics association. Dr. Fred enjoys playing jazz guitar as his creative outlet.
